IMPORTANT: Pillar candles are not suitable for short burning periods. Lighting and extinguishing them for just a few minutes or even one to two hours will cause tunneling and deteriorate the quality of the burn. Please read the description before purchasing the product.

Unlike thin candles, pillar candles require supervision and care to burn properly. This makes pillar candles particularly attractive and preferred by the candle enthusiasts.

• Pillar candles made from 100% beeswax are solid and designed for long burning times. To get the most burning hours out of your candle, follow a few simple steps:
• The candle should burn for at least 3 hours between lighting and extinguishing, until a wide wax pool has melted and the walls around it have softened. The soft walls are necessary for the next step.
• When the pool of melted wax has fallen and soft, warm wax walls have formed away from the flame (typical for square candles), carefully push them a little closer to the wick, holding the candle with both hands.
• If the wick has fallen over, straighten it so that it burns in the center of the candle. Do not blow it out when extinguishing — instead, dip the flame with the wick into the wax tray. Then straighten it back to its previous position so that it is ready for the next lighting.
• Extinguish the candle and shorten the wick to 5 mm if the flame is too strong or a black ‘mushroom’ forming on the tip of the wick. Then light it again.

How to fix the candle if the flame has burned a tunnel: With the candle extinguished and cooled, carefully cut the walls to the base of the wick with a slightly heated household knife. Light the candle again and follow the instructions above to keep it burning optimally.
